During my time as an intern at LMST, I was lucky enough to work on costumes for the world premiere of From The Mountain Top - The Edgar Tufts Story, which tells the story of Edgar Tufts who founded most everything, including Lees-McRae College, in the small town of Banner Elk, NC.
My main project for this show (as it was mainly in production at the same time as Mamma Mia, was the recreation of Bessie Tufts top, from a historical photo Dr. Speer found. We created many costumes to match photos that relatives of the characters who still live in the town provided, to attempt to really recreate the special history of this town.
